Georgia Tarheel Sports

Providing athletic skills, leadership and character building programs to young men so they can thrive in their teenage years . . . and beyond

The Georgia Tarheel Sports program uses Athletics as a means of engaging teenagers ranging from 8 to 17 years old, providing them with an outlet for personal and athletic development.   Through the common language of athletic competition, mentors perform many hours per week of outreach and character development that transforms teenagers into young men.   Beyond the fundamentals of sports, the Tarheel organization focuses on creating individuals who lead, inspire and actualize all of the positive traits of tomorrow’s leaders through today’s activities.

Your sponsorship will provide funding for field trips, equipment, supplies, lesson plans and many other resources to reach dozens of participants.   Georgia Tarheel Sports carefully select mentors to provide positive role models and “fill in the gap” for teens who don’t have the benefit of an active, male mentor in their daily lives.   For those who do have active mentors, Tarheel Sports supplements this by reinforcing key messages and providing participants with a means of expressing themselves in a safe, supportive environment.   The groups help teach vital teamwork skills, and important techniques in conflict resolution, anger management and much, much more.
